Therapy is a time and place to consider what matters to you and how you want to live your life.
Many people come to therapy when they are feeling unsure, confused, lost, or in need of support around either a specific issue or ongoing concerns.
My understanding of therapy is that it is a conversation between two people – you and me – about things that matter to you. While I will always endeavour to offer a warm and supportive space, I am also prepared to challenge and encourage you to tackle the trickier things as well as the simpler ones. I believe that therapy is a gift we can give ourselves, towards a more open and vital life.
My own experience of therapy is that while it has been very useful in addressing major issues at crucial points in my life, it has also been important in the less traumatic or difficult times. I understand it as a safe space to listen to myself, consider how and where I am now, and how else I might wish to be.
I have a particular interest in supporting people to live their lives creatively – this might mean considering our choices more closely, looking at where we have become stuck in beliefs or the stories we tell ourselves, or using an uncertain time in life as a chance to take stock and make new choices that better suit who we are now and who we are becoming.
